This account current of the estate of Benjamin Clements decd was this day reported & Ordered to be recorded S Kello CC ========================================================================================== In the left margin: Vaughan William Will In the Name of God Amen I William Vaughan of Sᵒton County being of sound & disposing mind & memory body thanks be to Almighty God for the same do make this my last Will & testament in manner & form following (to wit) I lend to my wife Ann Vaughan the use of my plantation whereon I now live during her life or widowhood I lend to my wife three Negroes David Hannah & Nancy during her life or widowhood also one bed & furniture also one horse to the value? of 15 pounds togeter with my riding chair during her life or widowhood. I give unto my son William Vaughan after the death or Marriage of my wife Ann the plantation & tract land where on I now live containing one hundred & seventy five acres be the same more or less to him & his heirs forever Item I give unto my son Thomas Vaughan the track of land known by the name of brooks containing one humdred & ninety acres more or less to him and his heirs forever Item I give and devise and bequeath unto my son James Vaughan the tract of lans purchased of Sam Nicholson containing two hundred and fifty acres more or less to him & his heirs forever Item I give and bequeath unto my son William Vaughan after the death or Marriage of my wife Ann the whole of my dwelling house except my beds & furniture of such I give my son William Vaughan John Vaughan Thomas Vaughan James Vaughan Henry Vaughan & Howell Vaughan one each & the furniture there unro belonging but should not beds & furniture sufficient on my wife and each of my above mentioned children to have one a piece that my Ex's shall buy out of the money arising from the sale of rhe who;e my stock of all kinds crops & plantation utensils a bed & furniture for each child that lacks one and the bilk of money arising from the sale & debts due me after paying my Just debts & funeral Expenses be equally divided between my then surviving children to be put at interest & to receive their proportions of the said money when each survives to the age of twenty one years old as to my negros my will and desire is that they be equally divided between my children by such persons as the court of Sᵒton shall think proper to appoint (that is) those no not before lent to my wife & after her death or marriage those lent her with the increase to be equally divided all between them been living children I do appointment bro and friend Thomas Vaughan also Thomas Turner & Thomas Ridley whole and sole Exors to this my last will & Testament revoking all by me made In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seale this 10 day of December 1793 his Witness Wm { Vaughan William Edmunds mark Etheldred Brantley At a Court held for the County of Southampton on 9 day of October 1794 This Will was presented in Court by Tho Vaughan & Thomas Turner ywo of the Exors therein named / time being reserved for the third to qualify hereafter / & proved by the oaths of William Edmunds & Etheldred Brantley the witnesses thereto & Ordered to be recorded And on the motion of the said Exors who made oath according to Law certificate is granted them for obtaining a probat thereof in due form giving Secuy whereupon &c Sam Kello In the left margin: Peirce Elizabeth Will In the Name of God Amen I Elizabeth Peirce of the Parish of Nottoway & County of Sᵒton being low in health but of sound * disposing memory & mind do make & ordain this my last will & Testament in manner & form following - First I give to my daughter Eliza Peirce one bed and furniture to be chosen by her from amongst all my beds to her and her heirs forever - Secondly I give to my daughter Martha Cobb and Eliza Peirce all mu Cupboard furniture to be equally divided between them Thirdly it is my will and desire that all my estate of what kind or nature soever to be sold & the money arising from the sale after my just debts being paid to be equally divided as follows one fourth part to my son Peter Peirce one forth part to my son Bolton Peirce and the other half to be equally divided between other children Spencer Peirce Natha Peirce Martha Cobb and Elizabeth to them & their heirs forever Lastly I do nominate & appoint Robert Goodwin & Joseph Vick Exors of this my last will & testament & I do revoke ^ make void all other will or former Wills by me made declaring this to be my last will & Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 28th day of April 1794.
